The Story of Pipet the Fox - Jana Bauer
Pipe the fox is not actually a real fox – he is a boy in a fox costume, with ears and a tail made of soft fabric. Together with him, we embark on a forest adventure in the company of a hedgehog with a curious snout, an elephant followed everywhere by an invisible white lion, a witch with a wild carriage and a hissing voice, and many other forest dwellers. The animals soon realize they can count on Pipe even in difficult challenges, while slowly revealing why the boy actually lives in the forest… Pipe gains a bunch of loyal friends, and besides their support, he will need great determination, fearlessness, a bit of luck, and a pinch of magic.
Jana Bauer and Peter Škerl have received numerous domestic and international awards for their work. The picture book How to Hug a Hedgehog, awarded the Kristina Brenkova Prize for an original Slovenian picture book, is an introduction to the story of Pipe the fox, about his secret and longing.
