The patterns and motifs are derived from the Art Nouveau ornaments on the exterior and interior of the Cooperative Commercial Bank building at Miklošičeva Street 8 in Ljubljana, built in 1922, and from the ornament of the altar of the Diocesan Chapel in Trieste, built in 1913 according to the plans of architect Ivan Vurnik, in collaboration with Helena Kottler Vurnik.in collaboration with the painter and designer Helena Kottler Vurnik (1882–1962).
