The Escobar Roastery focuses on providing top-quality roasted coffee beans, with quality roasting being essential. Under the careful supervision of head roaster Omar, who is also a co-owner and co-founder of the roastery, each coffee bean achieves an optimal balance of flavors and aromas. The roasting is tailored to each coffee individually, allowing unique characteristics and flavors to emerge in the cup, such as chocolate, citrus, almonds, and hazelnuts.
Every coffee gets its roasting profile, which is determined by the origin and processing method of the coffee beans. The process is precise and requires multiple repetitions to achieve optimal results. Roasting takes place daily in small quantities, which allows for the preservation of freshness and fullness of aromas. Coffees are roasted and packaged on the spot to ensure the highest quality for each order.
Escobar offers a variety of premium coffees, including its signature house blends and seasonal single-origin coffees from different parts of the world. The selection of coffees is based on a strict tasting protocol, with only the best coffees making it to the offering. The roastery collaborates with smaller farms, allowing for the presentation of coffee plantations and producers, as well as quality control of the raw materials.
In addition to providing top-quality coffee, Escobar organizes the Coffee Festival in Vrhnika every year, which showcases Slovenian micro-roasteries and boutique coffee brands. The festival offers an opportunity to present and promote specialty coffees and to strengthen the coffee culture in Slovenia.
