The love for art and collecting was born decades ago – in the last century, in a small Slovenian town known for the world-famous Postojna Cave. It was there that thePygmalion gallery, with the mission of organizing cultural events and publishing art monographs.
This story eventually found its way to the villagePrison, near Bela Palanka in Serbia. The natural beauty of the place immediately revealed its potential. An organic plantation was createdPygmalion Dungeon, planted with roses, lavender, vineyards and fruit trees. Soon, artists from all over the world began to come to this space of creativity and peace – initially painters, later also multimedia artists and sculptors. They shared their works and talents with the co-creators of the plantation and enriched the space with their presence.
Over the years, they have come to realize that true art is created from an inner need of the artist – not to please the market, but to satisfy the creator's soul. From this philosophy was born the idea ofPygmalion distillery– not as a business venture, but as a continuation of artistic expression that celebrates nature, tradition, and personal taste.
They started creating the brandy where it all really begins – inorchardCarefully tended plantations, harvesting of fruits at optimum ripeness, respect for the traditional process of making rusk (which is recognized asUNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage) and patient aging – all of which form the foundation of their approach.
Pygmalion fruit distillates were not created to please the masses, but to delight the creators themselves, their friends and artists. The selected flavors, numerous compliments from visitors and recognition from the professional public testify to their success.
They are proud of every encounter in Tamnjanica, of the works of art that were created there, and of the sincere friendships that were forged. They are also proud of their spirits – unique creations that combine nature, culture, and art.
