The fifth book of Animal News continues the tradition, which authors Primož Suhodolčan and Uroš Hrovat set out with their first book (1998): they lively string together stories from the animal world in the form of a sensationalist newspaper with everything that goes with it – comic book illustrations, striking headlines and subtitles. Animals are the victims of crime, they witness business negotiations, love gossip and culinary experiences.
The supplement is also mandatory – Grines's animal records, which include the astonishing achievements of the strongest flea, the wooliest sheep, the most beautiful deer and other heroes. The most important thing about Animal News is the humor, so that the young reader has fun and giggles with them, although a surprisingly 'human' lesson can also be extracted from each story.
