The companies Slovenika and The Slovenia, in collaboration with the Alpe-Adria fair, are excited to announce an event that will shed light on key issues regarding Slovenia's identity and the significance of its brands. The event titled "Slovenia, where do your brands come from?" will take place on Wednesday, January 29, at 3 PM at the Ljubljana Exhibition and Convention Centre. The event will be structured as a round table, divided into two thematic sections: the first will focus on the discussion of Slovenia as a brand, while the second will highlight the analysis and presentation of Slovenian brands.
SLOVENIA: Our brand
The first section will focus on how to bring Slovenia as a national brand even closer to its users – both locals and foreigners. The discussion will center on opportunities for improvements after nearly two decades of the brand's existence and on finding ways for Slovenians to unify the understanding of the brand in various areas, not just in tourism.
The interlocutors will be:
- Polona Prešeren, representative of I Feel Slovenia, UKOM – Government Office of the Republic of Slovenia for Communication,
- Anja Zorko, head of the Center for Creativity at MAO (Museum of Architecture and Design), who will present the project Made in Slovenia,
- Livija Kovač Kostantinovič from the Slovenian Tourist Board (STO),
- Tomaž Jontes from the Olympic Committee of Slovenia (OKS),
- Dr. Tanja Lešnik Štuhec, Original Slovene,
- Niko Slavnič, representative of the organization The Slovenia.
Participants will share their views on strengthening national identity and highlight the potential for increasing the recognition of Slovenia beyond the tourism sector.
SLOVENIANS: Slovenian brands
The second module will be dedicated to the creators of Slovenian brands and their connection to the identity of Slovenians, feelings, and the green orientation of the brand Slovenia. Examples of successful practices and the challenges faced by creators will be presented.
The round table will include:
- Drago Bulc, representative of the Association of Tourist Journalists of Slovenia,
- Tatjana Sirar Kos from the Piran salt pans,
- Špela Smuk, project manager of Dobrote Dolenjske,
- Marko Miladinović, representative of the JUS project,
- Katarina Karlovšek, author of the project Slovenski Ornament,
- Niko Slavnič, representative of the organization Slovenika.
The discussion will emphasize the importance of connecting local creativity with national identity and seeking new opportunities for the growth and promotion of Slovenian brands.
