In Kočevski Rog lies the naked body of a young woman, someone cut her throat and dumped her in an overgrown jungle. He wears a mask in the shape of a wolf's head on his face, with iron bars instead of a mouth.
Pathologist Patrik Valbureto determines that the victim was raped and notices a human bite mark on her shoulder.Prosecutor Mio Aurelli, with the help of the team, must find out who the murdered woman is and what the white wolf mask means. The paths lead to Bela Krajina, where Aurelli spent the summer with his ex-wife Viola, and to Kočevje, where the victim worked for the Society for the Protection of the Kočevje Wolf. Aurelli meets Perun and Mokoš, the parents of the murdered woman, who are hiding a big family secret, and when a new body is found in a cave in the middle of Kočevski Rog, the story of forbidden love and the sins of the ancestors slowly begins to come together. "Wait a minute..." Aurelli said, looking again at the mask that the technician had just put in a plastic bag. He took it in his hand and lifted it slightly. What does this remind you of? Everyone looked up. Suddenly, a realization came over Aleš Vidmar's face. If this isn't a wolf's head..." - (excerpt from the book)
"A crime thriller from the pen of an unknown Slovenian author was initially a challenge for me (although Beletrina doesn't publish bad books), then a total surprise and finally a delight. I don't just place Irena Svetek's Little Red Riding Hood alongside the renowned Golob and Demšar, but the author has far surpassed both heavyweights in my eyes." - Matic Slapšak
