BH Unique Ceramics

Brigita Herjavec has been dedicated to creating unique ceramics for about 18 years, which initially started as a personal hobby. At first, she made gifts for her loved ones and friends, but over time she decided to turn her passion into professional creation. She developed her expertise through persistent exploration, gaining knowledge on the pottery wheel, and mastering various hand techniques and paintings.

Brigita quickly realized that mass production of identical products was not her path. Instead, she chose uniqueness and innovation, as she believes that creating completely identical pieces is not only impersonal but also too uninteresting for her creative potential.

In her work, she transcends the boundaries of the ordinary and constantly explores new forms, painting techniques, and experiments with various materials. Her unique collection of ceramic products includes ceramic lace, which is the result of numerous challenges and hard work. Among her creations are bowls, coasters, cake trays, lights, and jewelry.

The products are hand-shaped on a potter's wheel and painted with various hand techniques. After shaping, they are fired at 1050 °C. Some products are decorated with gold, which is applied as a overglaze in the third firing, but these products are not suitable for microwave ovens. The average time to create one handmade unique piece is from 10 to 14 days, as the products are fired at high temperatures for a longer time, ensuring their high quality and durability.

Brigita, in creating her products, strives to combine art with functionality. Nature is her greatest inspiration, so it could be said that she produces functional artistic ceramics in a boutique scale with the possibility of personalized products upon request.
