In the colloquial vocabulary of Šentjernej, the word GAUNAR is attributed the explanation "strong and cunning scoundrel". GAUNAR is a fragrant Traminer, represented by a mighty animal – a ram. This incredible animal is associated with endurance, stubbornness, determination, and focus. All these qualities can also be found in Rok, the main creator of Arret Wines and the greatest admirer of fragrant Traminer.
The vineyard of fragrant Traminer grows almost on a rock of marl and sandstone, which is also reflected in its character. Low-yielding vineyards are hand-picked in the early morning hours when the grapes are still cool, as cool fruit means better control over the fermentation process. Destemming is followed by pressing and then fermentation under controlled conditions in stainless steel tanks. Before bottling, the wine is filtered.
The wine is golden yellow in color. Very aromatic, semi-sweet, with notes of rose, peach, and lychee. It is harmonious with a long aftertaste, which makes every sip extremely pleasant.
The full richness of flavors is best revealed when serving the wine at a temperature of 10 °C.
