New, a picture book by Boštjan Gorenac Pajamas and illustrator Damijan Stepančič, Teacher Owl and the Language Tree!Popular writer Boštjan Gorenc – Pižama has created a story that takes the youngest readers for the first time into the wonderful world of the Slovenian language and the places where it was born.
Young readers meet Primož Trubar, the superhero, and learn how the Slovenian language has developed and continues to develop today. Illustrator Damijan Stepančič has added illustrations to this story about love for the Slovenian language, turning it into a real linguistic adventure. Indeed, the book is part of the Language Adventure, a fun family adventure in nature that takes place in Trubar's surroundings. Very close and very soon!
The picture book was published with the support of the Public Book Agency and in cooperation with the Public Institute Trubarjevi kraji.
They headed towards a clearing where a mighty tree stood. Its bushy crown swayed in the wind and it seemed as if countless voices were whispering from within.
"This is a language tree that sprouted from the Alphabet," said the teacher Owl. "Each leaf is its own word. Most of the leaves are green. These are the words that we use more or less regularly."
"And jazz, too, like grandma says?" Jakob asked.
"Even jazz," smiled Teacher Owl.
"Sponge," Jakob laughed.
