Architecture of the Homes of Famous Slovenians 2
This is the second work of the Kmečki glas Publishing House in the series of the author's books about the homes of famous Slovenians – the first was dedicated to artists. This time, thirty-five notable Slovenian intellectuals are included, who lived between the 17th and 21st centuries and come from various parts of the country and social strata.
The work does not only address the architecture of buildings in which people were either born or spent part of their lives, but initially presents them with their most important work and social role, with which they shaped Slovenian and European history.
Buildings (cities, palaces, town and village houses), in which Janez Vajkard Valvasor, Stanko Bloudek, Rudolf Meister, Matija Čop, Marja Borštnik, Janez Puh, Žiga Zois, Stanislav Škrabec and others lived, provide an interesting insight into the development of living culture in Slovenia. According to the author, Dr. of architectural sciences, the immediate living space also had a significant impact on the individuality and work of the individual. The book is bilingual (Slovenian-English text), with rich photographic equipment, sketches of floor plans, and preserved archival drawings.
