Interestingly, its authors are ninth-graders Jana Meško and Tajda Špes from the Doctor Franjo Žgeč Primary School in Dornava. With the help of their mentor, history and geography professor Aleš Marđetek, they learned how their ancestors fought for an independent Slovenia.

Eight-year-old boy Miha loves to explore. When it rains and he can't play outside, he goes to his grandparents' house. There, he loves to rummage through the attic, where he always discovers something interesting. The last time he discovered a large box containing a picture of a man, numerous books written in a script he couldn't read, a picture of his grandfather in military uniform, and a cap with a red star.

Since he didn't understand anything, he asked his grandfather to explain what all these things represented. His grandfather told him that these things were used in the former state of Yugoslavia, which included Slovenia. He also explained that this state fell apart when Slovenia became independent.

"What does it mean that Slovenia has become independent?" asked Miha. His grandfather told him a story about Slovenia...
