The book is intended for pregnant women who are facing gestational diabetes. Although it is tailored for this specific group, all the recipes and most of the theory are suitable for all diabetics. The author has made a special effort with this book, as she has checked each recipe by measuring her own blood sugar, thus gathering only the best and most suitable recipes. I never expected to develop gestational diabetes during my pregnancy, and when I did, my world turned upside down. Despite being involved in nutrition and being a passionate cook, I knew nothing about the diet that comes with such a condition. Except, of course, for the most well-known fact – that you cannot eat anything sweet with diabetes. For me, as a lover of sweets and fruit in general, this meant a real hell. Since I found myself in quite a stressful situation, I decided to put the recipes and my layman's findings on paper for everyone who does not have the time to read hundreds of pages about diabetes, and for all those who are facing this condition but do not know what dishes they can eat without having their blood sugar levels rise. I am convinced that the manual will be very useful for many pregnant women with diabetes and also for many who are dealing with the classic form of diabetes, as the recipes are of course completely suitable for all diabetics.
