This is a story about chocolate that elevated the apple to a noble of exquisite taste. A juicy and exceptionally tasty apple with a waxy skin grew long ago under the Sevnica castle. The farmer who nurtured and valued it called it the Sevnica Wax Apple. Each fruit was carefully wrapped in silky paper and, at the end of the 19th century, taken all the way to Trieste, Vienna, and Hamburg, where it shone in the fruit-growing circles. The apple, which awakens a longing for southern lands with its scent, quickly conquered the German, Hungarian, and Russian markets. Moreover, it was even popular in Egypt. For the farmer, it was like castle gold.
