The purpose of composting is to obtain quality compost as a universal fertilizer and microbiological stimulant for our soil and plants.More than the nutrients in compost, we are interested in the living (microbiological) part of compost, which revives even the most degraded soil. The book Compost? Yes, Please presents the collected basic knowledge that authors Robert Špiler and Tjaša Štruc have acquired through education, research, and, above all, intensive practice in (so far) seven seasons of gardening and composting. The book is aimed at gardeners and contains 20 practical recipes for composting.

WHY A BOOK ABOUT COMPOSTING?
Composting is an extremely broad and extensive topic that raises question after question. The book Compost? Yes, Please presents the collected basic knowledge that we have acquired through education, research, and above all, intensive practice in (so far) seven seasons of gardening and composting. The book is therefore intended for gardeners.
It contains, in a popular way, knowledge about the decomposition of organic material that every gardener should master. Both those who grow some lettuce and spices on 2 m2 of land, and those who take self-sufficiency seriously. It also talks about composting animal manure, as an external source or if you have some animals yourself. In a joking way, it is a special branch of "farmer" alchemy, because we turn manure into black gold (read: compost).
The purpose of composting is to obtain high-quality compost as a universal fertilizer and microbiological stimulant for our soil and plants. In sustainable farming, compost added to our soil is the foundation of fertility and there is never too much of it. More than the nutrients in the compost, we are interested in the living (microbiological) part of the compost, which revives even the most degraded soil. The book is not intended for larger livestock farms, professional composting plants and municipal composting plants. The language used is simple with a few theoretical terms so that we can understand each other better. The most frequently used and more complex terms are collected at the beginning of the book in the explanation of terms.
HOW IS THE BOOK COMPOSED?
If you want to become a composting master, you need a recipe for direction, practice, and some theory. That's why the book is divided into two parts - the first part presents the theory in a layman's way, and the second part collects practical recipes. And of course, you add your own practice!
In the first part, we delve into the very breakdown of the processes of decomposition of organic material, like in a cookbook, first presenting the theoretical working techniques and then in the second part we continue with the most common recipes for composting on a small and large scale.
The presentation of composting in practice is purposely divided into small (up to 1 m3) and large (more than 1 m3). Some techniques are more suitable for composting at home with smaller quantities, while others are used when composting larger volumes of material, mainly from external sources.
